PROJECTS
TURNING COMPLEX DIAGNOSTIC CHALLENGES INTO SIMPLE SOLUTIONS
The projects described herein are all taken from the field of global health, where the performance requirements are dictated by the World Health Organization (WHO) in so-called “Target Product Profiles (TPPs), a list of approximately 40 specifications that tests will need to meet in order to support WHO programs. The sensitivity and specificity requirements are typically challenging, and so is the necessity for prolonged stability under tropical climates and ultra-low cost. The other tabs under “Projects” are meant as illustrations of what we have been working on. These are parasitic diseases, for instance due to worms such as river blindness, lymphatic filariasis, and loa loa, flukes such as in the case of paragonimiasis, and viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis B and C viruses.
