WHAT WE DO

RUGGED TESTS, HEAT STABLE CONTROLS, READER APP FOR DATA SHARING

Big Eye Diagnostics develops and manufactures lateral flow assays (LFAs), also known as rapid diagnostics tests (RDTs). These tests, built in the same format as the pregnancy home test,  can be tuned to detect different medical conditions and are typically used with a droplet of blood collected by fingerstick, urine, or swabs. In order to meet the demand for tests that are geared towards detecting infectious diseases in tropical and/or low-income countries, Big Eye Diagnostics has built a unique integrated technology platform for tests that are affordable, simple to use, extremely rugged, and able to withstand high temperatures during transportation and storage. Our tests are designed for use at home or in the primary care facilities, as well as in zero-infrastructure field settings, and are optionally supplied with a smartphone-based reader app that will interpret the results for you in an objective way and record them for later retrieval.  For quality assurance purposes, we also specialize in heat-stable positive controls that do not require cold-chain transportation.  State-of-the art science is used to achieve these results at an affordable price.

Our experience spans from developing new tests to manufacturing them, providing a seamless transition from research to commercialization. The ability to combine research and manufacturing is key to accelerating the time to commercialization as no time is lost in transferring technology to third parties. Big Eye Diagnostics is ISO-13485 certified.

In summary, we can offer elegant and cost-effective solutions to rapidly diagnose infections by one or several pathogens, such as filarial parasites, bacteria, and viruses, or to determine the presence and relative levels of medically relevant biomarkers in your body, such as early markers of cancer, hormones, and other disease-relevant biosignatures.

Figure: Big Eye Diagnostics offers an integrated platform, from research to manufacturing, including production of rapid tests, heat stable positive controls for quality control, and optional app for test interpretation and data sharing, with a medical doctor or a team of epidemiologists. Furthermore, we can develop the test and then manufacture it, saving valuable time by eliminating tech transfer logistics.
